Recording and Using a Library Vox

Library Voxes differ from the Quick Voxes you created earlier in that they can be used anywhere within the program, multiple times.  They are stored in the Audio Manager so that they can be accessed at any time.  To save time, you will want to use Library Voxes for information you need to repeat in many places throughout the program.

  1. Click on View > Audio Manager.

  2. The Audio Library will open.  Click on the "New" button.

  3. Fill out the Description You can fill out the Description field when recording a Quick Vox or Library Vox. Filling out the Description is optional, but it allows you to keep track of your Voxes more easily. , Voice and Transcript You can fill out the Transcript field when recording a Quick Vox or Library Vox. Filling out the Transcript is optional, but it allows you to keep a record of exactly what is said in the Vox. This is very helpful if the Vox needs to be rerecorded later. fields as follows:

  1. Record the Vox .

  2. Click "OK" to close the "New Audio Item" dialog.

  3. The Library Vox you just recorded will be visible in the Audio Manager.

  4. Click "OK" to close the Audio Manager.

  5. Right click on the word "Response A Response gives your customers an answer to their question or directs them to another Module that has the information they need. A Response can contain as many Voxes as you would like AND/OR a Goto OR a Transfer OR a Hangup. " within the "Bananas" Concept A Concept is a general idea used to describe a group of Phrases. Phrases are the words for which the program will listen. For example, "Locations," "Your location," "Where you're located," and "Your address" are all Phrases that could be used within the Concept of "Locations." .

  6. Choose "Add Vox" from the popup menu.

  7. Create a Quick Vox using the method described earlier that says, "Bananas are a great snack."

  8. Right click on the word "Response" within the "Bananas" Concept.

  9. Choose "Add Vox" from the popup menu.

  10. Another Vox will be added at the end of the Response.  Click on it once to highlight it.

  11. Double click on the word "None" in the Properties Table A table in which all the Properties Properties allow you to control specific details of the program and how it runs. For example, the "Allow Barge-in" property detirmines whether the caller will be allowed to interrupt the system and jump ahead without listening to every single Vox. All the Properties are automatically set to their default value when you create a new Project. You can change the Properties for a specific item from the Properties Table, or you can change Properties for the entire Project from the Project Properties box. for any Module Modules are the individual elements you use to create your Information System. When you create an Information System, you are crafting a conversation between a computer and a live person. Each Module represents a single, distinct portion of that conversation. The different types of Modules are: Start, List, Multilevel, Overview, Yes/No, Goto, Hangup, Transfer, Global, Global Yes/No and Goto Project. Each Module has its own unique function and symbol., Action List, Action, or Grammar The Grammar contains the words and phrases for which the program will listen in a given Module. Concepts, Phrases, Confirmations, Responses, and the Phrase Library are all part of the Grammar List. are listed. There is a seperate table for all of the Project Each Project you create represents a single Speech Driven Information System. So, if you want to create three separate Information Systems, you will need to create three different Projects. Properties which is visible at all times.   12. Double click on "Library" in the yellow box that pops up.

  13. Double click on "SELECT" in the Properties Table.

  14. The "Open Vox" dialog will open containing the Library Vox you created earlier.

  15. Click once on "Goodbye" to highlight it.

  1. Click "OK."

  2. Right click on the word "Response" within the "Bananas" Concept.

  3. Choose "Add Hangup" from the popup menu.  This means the system will hang up on your caller when they reach this point in the call.

  4. Add a Quick Vox to your Confirmation A Confirmation double checks with a caller to make sure the system understood their response. This way, your callers will not start receiving information about a topic they are not really interested in. Confirmations are always yes or no questions, such as, "Did you say you're interested in locations?" that asks, "Did you say you prefer bananas?"
