Setting up a No Match Handler

  1. Open the Module Modules are the individual elements you use to create your Information System. When you create an Information System, you are crafting a conversation between a computer and a live person. Each Module represents a single, distinct portion of that conversation. The different types of Modules are: Start, List, Multilevel, Overview, Yes/No, Goto, Hangup, Transfer, Global, Global Yes/No and Goto Project. Each Module has its own unique function and symbol. in which you wish to add a No Match Handler .

  2. Right click on the name of the Module in the upper left hand corner of the screen.  A popup menu will appear.

  1. Click on "Add No Match ."

  2. A dialog will pop up asking what count Count is used when setting up a No Input, No Match, or Error. No Inputs, No Matches, and Errors are marked by their count (#1, #2, #3, and so on). For example, a No Match #1 will play the first time a caller says something the system doesn't understand. A No Match #2 will go into effect the second time in a row that a caller says something the system doesn't understand. you want the No Match to be.  Enter the count number you want.

  1. Click "OK."

  2. A No Match Handler A No Match A No Match occurs when the caller says something the system doesn't recognize. For example, if the system asks the caller "Do you prefer coffee or tea?" and they reply "Juice," their response would be considered a No Match.Handler A Handler is an Action List that goes into effect when a No Input, No Match, or Error occurs. is a list of Actions that goes into effect when the caller says something that the system does not recognize. For example, let’s say the system is set up to ask the caller, "Do you prefer coffee or tea?" If the caller doesn’t say anything, they will trigger a No Input A No Input occurs when the system is expecting a response and the caller doesn't say anything. Handler. If they say, "Juice," they will trigger a No Match Handler. will be added to the Module.

  3. You can add a Vox A Vox is an Action that plays a sound file. You can record a Vox in your own voice directly from the Speech Driven Information System. You can also use the Audio Manager to import recordings or sound effects that you have obtained from other sources. to the No Match Handler if you like.  If you just have a Vox in your No Match Handler, the caller will return to the area they were previously in after the Vox plays.

  4. If you like, you can also add a Terminal Action A Terminal Action is an Action that always appears at the end of an Action List. You can only have one Terminal Action in any Action List. There are four types of Terminal Actions: Listen, Goto, Transfer, and Hangup.Listen A Listen tells the program to listen to the caller. It will then try to match what they say to the information you enter in the Grammar The Grammar contains the words and phrases for which the program will listen in a given Module. Concepts, Phrases, Confirmations, Responses, and the Phrase Library are all part of the Grammar List.. A Listen is a Terminal Action. This means it will be the last Action in an Actions List., Goto A Goto is an Action that sends callers to another Module. A Goto is a Terminal Action. This means it will be the last Action in an Actions List., Transfer A Transfer is an Action that will hang up on callers. A Transfer is a Terminal Action. This means it will be the last Action in an Actions List., and Hangup A Hangup is an Action that will hang up on callers. A Hangup is a Terminal Action. This means it will be the last Action in an Actions List.., such as a Goto to another Module, a Transfer to another phone number or extension, or a Hangup .  You may also add additional No Match Handlers- just remember to increment the count.
