The Speech Assistant is a collection of speech-enabled applications that provide access to features of the TeleVantage system with either touch-tone/DTMF or the caller's voice.
Getting Started |
The Call Router application allows callers to speak the name of the person or department they wish to be connected to.
The Contact List application allows users to access their personal contacts list to make outgoing calls.
The Voice Mail application provides the ability for users to listen to and manipulate messages in their voice mailboxes.
The E-Mail Application mimics voice mail connecting users to their e-mail accounts where messages can be scanned, listened to via text-to-speech, and manipulated.
The NeoSpeech Text-to-Speech engine is included with each Assistant installation to ensure the quality of the audio presentation.
The key to this interface is the use of the TeleVantage Name Directory combined with a customized database of alternate names and pronunciations, called Assistant Configuration. Using this information, the Assistant creates a list of all possible combinations of names, with which caller requests are compared.
Maintenance of the lists of names and alternates is done through Assistant Configuration, which directly interfaces to the TeleVantage Name Directory.
