SMTP may require password authentication
Some SMTP providers require additional authorization of the user name and password that may or may not be different from the corresponding POP3 account. If this is the case, E-Mail Accounts in the Assistant Configuration contains a button labeled "More Settings" which will present a dialog box for the entry of the authorization parameters.
LumenVox's Assistant must have Administrator access to Microsoft Exchange Server
For the LumenVox Assistant to be able to communicate freely with the Microsoft Exchange Server, the LumenVox Dialogic Call Engine Service must be set up to log in with Domain Administrator rights. Without those rights, the Assistant may be blocked from having access to the Exchange server. You can check this by going to Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Services. Check the information for the LumenVox Dialogic Call Engine Service to see what the "Log On As" is set to. If it is not a Domain Administrator Log On, this can be modified in the properties window for the Service.
"Act as part of the operating system"
This is an obscure requirement of Microsoft MAPI. Through the "Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Local Security Policy/Local Policies/User Rights Assignment" the "Act as part of the operating system" privilege must be enabled for the account, or the account's group, used by the Assistant and the Dialogic Call Engine Services. This must be done both locally and on the domain server to give the account an "Effective Setting" for this privilege.
