Barge-in required
In order for LumenVox's Assistant to work, the Dialogic hardware must provide the capacity for barge-in which allows the system to recognize when a caller initiates audio input that is intended for the Speech Recognition Engine. The hardware itself must be capable of "barge-in" and the Dialogic Configuration parameters must be set accordingly.
System contains non-CSP (Continuous Speech Processing) Dialogic cards
In order to get barge-in capability with non-CSP (Continuous Speech Processing) Dialogic cards (specifically cards that are not in the JCT or DM3 card families, which support CSP functionality), you must install a CSP capable card and set-up TeleVantage to not use the resources of this CSP card. To do this in TeleVantage, you will need to modify the registry as described in the Extra JCT Card Setup section of Installation / Dialogic Devices.
Prompts causing Barge-In
When using analog lines through a JCT card, prompts may trigger the card's barge-in and be interpreted as caller input. To correct this entries in the 'Stream.ini' file can be added or modified to normalize the volume of the audio prompts. In the [NormParams] section, add or modify the line "EnableNorm=1" to enable normalization then add or modify the line "Scale=n" where 'n' is a value between 0 and 100 %. Reducing this number softens the audio signal so that it does not trigger barge-in. A value as low as 50 may be necessary to overcome the problem on some cards but the caller will not detect a noticeable difference in the volume.
