Q & A

Q:  We have a single D/240JCT T1 board configured for ISDN NI2 protocol. If I am understanding the documentation correctly, then this board cannot be configured for the barge in feature so that we could talk over the voice prompts. This would require a second board to support this feature. Is this correct? Or is there some way of configuring the system so that LumenVox can gain use of those resources with a single JCT board.

A:  Set that way, the resources can't be shared.

Q: We can have for our ISDN-PRI a D240SCT1 board and add a D41JCTLS board for speech resources.  Will this configuration support the Barge-in?

A: Yes, that configuration should support barge-in.

Q: I am planning on installing TV 7.0 Beta 1.  Does Speech Assistant work with TV7?

A: We feel that there is a good chance our product will work with TV 7, but we cannot officially support our product working with any other product that is in it's Beta form.

Q: Also, I found the portion of the TeleVantage log which applies to the same call (5.25 second turnaround total)

A: We take 2 - 2.5 seconds to start.  TV takes about .5 seconds to tell us to start.

TV log starts at 3.250

The Assistant starts at 4.437

The Assistant ready to play at: 6.359

This is a total of three seconds.

The rest of the time would be taken by Timeouts in an auto attendant.

For Example it could wait 2 seconds to be sure you dont press another key.

The other reason could be Silence in the front of a Prompt.

These kind of problems are why we do not recommend the Auto Attendant in front of The Assistant.  It would be better to configure the Call Router to act as the Auto Attendant.of three seconds.

Q:  One problem, as you anticipated, I couldnt get the email portion to work. I tried POP/IMAP/EXCHANGE restarting services between. I even restarted the server.

A:  Try reentering any passwords you have entered in the Assistant Configuration. Passwords that are too long, more than approximately 10 characters, have been found to be a possible issue, along with an encryption change that makes the old password unrecognizable. You could even reenter the same password.

Q:  I just uninstalled without removing the activation/registration. Will that be a problem?

A: That shouldn't be a problem, unless you are changing machines, or wiping out the working directory completely. Just do the install after uninstalling and you should be fine.
