Installing the Speech Engine on a Separate Server

If you would like to move the actual speech recognition from your TeleVantage server and onto another machine, you can install the Speech Engine -- the piece of software that performs recognitions -- onto a separate machine.

Doing this can be helpful as speech recognition is quite resource intensive. By moving the Engine to another server, you can free up resources on the TeleVantage machine.

In order to do this, you must have a copy of the Speech Engine, which is a separate installation from the Assistant. Contact LumenVox technical support if it is not available on your downloads page.

  1. Once the install is complete, open the Windows Control Panel, go to Administrative Tools, and open the Services panel.

  2. Disable the LumenVox SRE Server:

  3. Then from the Control Panel, open the System panel, click on the Advanced tab, then click Environment Variables.

  4. Create a new environment variable called LV_SRE_CLIENT_CONNECT_IP as shown below:

  5. Set the Variable Value to the IP address of the server the Engine is going to reside on.

  6. Install the Engine on the specified server. See the Speech Engine help document for information on installing it.
