Extra JCT Card Setup

In order to get barge-in capability with non-CSP (Continuous Speech Processing) Dialogic cards (specifically cards that are not in the JCT or DM3 card families which support CSP functionality), you must install a CSP capable card and set-up TeleVantage to not use the resources of this CSP card.

If you are using HMP, you must also configure TeleVantage to not use the CSP resources you have installed.

To do this in TeleVantage, you will need to modify the registry setting:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ARTISOFT\TeleVantage\Server\Settings\DisableDevices

You'll need to add an entry for each Dialogic port device.

For example, if you have installed a D/41-JCT card at ID 0, add the entry: dxxxB1C1,dxxB1C2,dxxB1C3,dxxB1C4 to the registry setting DisableDevices.

See TeleVantage documentation for more information.

This same string (with semicolons as dividers) will need to be added to the DialogicSettings.ini file in the Assistant directory under the RESERVED_JCT_DEVICES setting. This lets the Assistant know these devices are available to use when the default Dialogic Card given to it by TeleVantage is not CSP-capable.

Example:

RESERVED_JCT_DEVICES=dxxxB1C1;dxxB1C2;dxxB1C3;dxxB1C4

Now, in this case, up to four simultaneous callers on older hardware will have barge-in active.

Note: These changes can be done automatically through Advanced Functions in the Assistant Configuration.
