The Speech Driven Assistant's call router, voice mail, and email applications are based on a connection between the TeleVantage server and its user name directory. The Assistant's Configuration menu provides a method for entering the identity and connection information of the server and to maintain a directory containing alternate names, spellings and pronunciations for each of the users. It will be this name directory and the alternate spellings contained therein that provide the speech recognition engine with the grammar it uses to identify valid names from utterances given by any caller using the system.
Information entered using the Assistant configuration tool is stored in the 'TVData' sub-directory under the directory in which the Assistant is installed. If it is ever necessary to move your system or to do a clean installation, the files with the '.bts' extension should be saved and then restored to the 'TVData' sub-directory of the new installation. This preserves the server connection information, alternate name, pronunciation, and email account data thus preventing the need to re-enter all of it.
